Moonpeak Expedition (4,610 mtrs.)
3 Nights/4 Days
12+ Age Group
Moonpeak often also written as Mun Peak lies majestically in the western himalayan region. It is easily the most distinct, visible and spectacular peak within the Dhauladhar range. It lies on the right side of Indrahar Pass. This mountain range also divides the Kangra and Chamba valleys.
Terrain and trail
There is a steep gradient to the whole trek while a later part of the summit has technical rocks and boulders. It is a short but challenging trek to be honest. The expedition starts from Laka Got, over the Indrahar pass and descending to Marn Kandi behind the Indrahar.
What is so cool about the Moonpeak Expedition?
Apart from offering breathtaking sights of the Indian Plains, the holiest peak in the region, Mani Mahesh and the Pir Panjal range, it is an old trail frequented by the Gaddi shepherds with their flocks enroute grazing pastures of the Raavi valley and Lahul in the summers.
