ABOUT MOON PEAK :
DHAULADHAR Range is part of lower Himalayan chain above all mountains Moon Peak is one of them Peaks . It rises from the plains to the north of Kangra and Mandi, Dharamsala .The headquarters of Kangra district, lies on its southern seems like in above all Kangra Valley, which divides it from Chamba.The elevation of the Dhauladhars ranges hence from 3,500 m to almost 6,000 m.from the banks of the Beas river in Kullu, Above all the range curves towards the town of Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, India.
The Dhauladhars have in contrast peculiar topography.Ascending from any side is a difficult, rather given the near vertical incline. This calls so highly technical trekking and mountaineering. Triund – Ilaqua Ghot, approached from the hill station of McLeod Ganj, is the nearest and most almost snow line in the Indian Himalayas. therefore range has rich flora and fauna.
Peaks, virgin and scaled,also have drawn mountaineers from all over the world. similarly of the well-known ones are Moon (4610 m) near Dharamshala, Manimahesh Kailash peak (5653 m) in contrast the sacred Manimahesh region,
DAY 01: Mcleodganj – Triund (2975m) Trek/9 Km
First of all trek goes through mixed forest of oak, rhododendron and deodar tress. First 2 Km is steep between the deodar and after Galu Devi beautiful view of Dharmshala and Mcleodganj. Therefore Triund is a flat meadow on top of a ridge.Almost here panoramic view of Dhauladhar range on one side and Kangra valley another is a memorable sight. Night stay at tents and also private houses.
DAY 02: Triund – Lahesh Cave (3500m) Trek/6Km
For the reason its a acclimatization day. Consequently a short ascent from Triund traverse a ridge to reach Laka Got a temporary shepherd camp. Most noteworthy that Laka is very beautiful and base of Moon Peak . From Laka Got it is a sleep ascent for 2 km. Even more rocky ridge to reach Lahesh cave.Hence Night stay in the cave of camp at Laka Got.
DAY 03: Lahesh Cave – Indrahaar Pass- Chatta (4350m) Trek-4 Km
First of all take breakfast early in morning and move on trek.Therefor In early summer April to may the trail is full of snow and require good equipment. There is no snow or ice in contrast there is narrow trail going up to the pass. Probably It takes about three hours to the pass. From the pass entire Pir Panjal range of central Himalayas is a sight to behold. Night Stay in Chatta behind Indrahaar pass.
DAY 04: Chatta – Moon Peak (4650 m)
Start early in the morning, therefore weather gets bad in the afternoon. So In early summer April to may the trail is full of snow and require good equipment. There is less snow or ice and there is narrow trail going up to the pass. It almost takes about 4 hours to the Moon Peak. Overnight Camp in Laka Got or also Lahesh Cave.
DAY 05: Laka Got/Lahesh Cave – Mcleod Ganj Trek/ 12 to 15 Km
Finally on the last day of the trek. Due to long trek started early in morning. After 3 hours reach to Triund. Similarly another easy trail to back to Mcleodganj.

Note: Customer needs to carry their Basic Stuff along with themselves like Warm cloths, Extra Cloths, Daily basic stuff etc …
Transport Options (Delhi – McLeod ganj – Delhi)
For travel to Mcleod ganj and back one can choose between air, rail & road.
There is frequent Public Transport buses including Volvos available from Delhi to Mcleodganj that cost about Rs. 650 – 1200 per person.
